Anti-adhesive Testing of Marine Biosurfactant

Marine biosurfactants (MBS) have been found to inhibit the adhesion of pathogenic microorganisms to solid surfaces or sites of infection, so preadhesion of biosurfactants to solid surfaces may constitute a new and effective means of combating pathogenic microorganism colonization. The involvement of biosurfactants in microbial adhesion and desorption has been widely described, and the adsorption of biosurfactants to solid surfaces may constitute an effective strategy to reduce microbial adhesion and combat pathogenic microbial colonization, not only in the biomedical field, but also in other fields such as the food industry.
