Detection of Marine Biotoxin

Marine biotoxins are the most rapidly researched marine bioactive substances. Most marine biotoxins are unique to marine organisms and are extremely rare in terrestrial animals. Marine biotoxins have high selectivity and high affinity for receptors, usually specific to nerves and muscles. And they can excite key targets of cell membranes, such as nervous system receptors or ion channels, affecting receptor-related receptors and a series of cellular regulatory activities. Marine biological toxins can be divided into polypeptide toxins, polyether toxins, and alkaloid toxins according to their chemical structures. Because marine biotoxins are widely distributed, highly toxic, and difficult to detoxify. The traditional detection method of marine biotoxins is the biological detection method. With the gradual deepening of researchers' understanding of the mechanism of marine biotoxins, new detection methods are constantly being developed.
