Glyceria maxima is usually found in open wetlands such as swamps, grasslands, bushes and coastlines. Sediment toxicity tests play an important role in the prospective risk assessment of organic chemicals. Water-sediment G. maxima toxicity test is a specially crafted method of assessing the impact that chemical compounds can have on G. maxima. Test Organisms

G. maxima grows as an emerging monocot. These plants are not easy to grow, but we manage to do it in our laboratory, so we are not dependent on deliveries from commercial breeders. Our plants are parasite free and we are confident they are completely untreated.

Endpoints of Our Toxicity Test

The endpoints of the study are increases in shoot height (including new growth) and fresh and dry weight. Based on these parameters, NOEC, LOEC, and EC50 (EC20, EC10) of production and growth rate can be calculated.
