Phaeodactylum Tricornutum Production

Phaeodactylum tricornutum is a type of diatom. It is the only species in the genus Phaeodactylum. Unlike other diatoms, Phaeodactylum tricornutum can exist in different morphologies (fusiform, triradial, and elliptical), and changes in cell shape can be stimulated by environmental conditions. Phaeodactylum tricornutum is a naturally rich source of fucoxanthin, an orange-brown carotenoid that plays a role in energy transfer and helps protect microalgae from oxidative stress. In recent years, research institutions from around the world have identified fucoxanthin as a major contributor to dietary health benefits. Phaeodactylum tricornutum also has unique biological properties.
