Quality Testing of Marine Biofertilizer

Marine biofertilizers are one of the important components of organic and sustainable agriculture. These are low-cost, environmentally friendly, and improve soil health. As biological materials, their effects on plant growth may not be as dramatic as chemical fertilizers. Farmers' awareness of biofertilizers is increasing. But the completion of biofertilizer inoculation is based on the properties of the inoculant used. Therefore, the manufacture of marine biofertilizers must adhere to quality control protocols in the production unit to ensure product quality. Attention should also be paid to overcoming other constraints that hinder biofertilizer technology. We should recognize that the marine microbial workforce has great potential in the future when marine biofertilizers are used rationally in sustainable agriculture. At CD BioSciences, microbial population calculations for specific organisms will be evaluated using different microbial processes. Once the colonies appeared, the colony morphology will be observed by various morphological methods. We are now offering consumers better flexibility in testing marine biofertilizers by creating a clear choice of testing methods.

Our Services

Improving manufacturing and producing better quality marine biofertilizers is an urgent requirement for agriculture. CD provides detection of the main factors that affect the quality of marine biofertilizers from production to inoculation. Our services are listed as follows, but are not limited to:

  • Identification of strains guaranteed
  • Density of strains guaranteed (colony forming unit)
  • Assessment of main activity as effect indicators of biofertilizers
  • Evaluation of effect for target crops (growth rate, nutrient adsorption, etc.)

Our Quality Testing Methods of Marine Biofertilizer

  • Microbiological Methods
Many microbiological techniques have been used for the quality guarantee of inoculants such as viable cell count, total count, plating, most probable number (MPN), and staining (gram and fuchsin).
  • Serological Methods
Serological methods include different techniques such as fluorescent antibody method, agglutination method, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), gel immunodiffusion technique, membrane filtration method, etc. These methods we choose are faster and simpler than plate counting for selective counting.
  • Molecular Methods
Our molecular methods apply genetic markers, probe, and PCR-supported methods for strain recognition.

Sample Requirements

  • Solid materials should be dried and ground to a fine powder.
  • Water samples should be contained in airtight containers. Do not fill the container if the sample may freeze during transport, as the container will burst when the frozen water expands.
  • Please contact us before shipping samples, samples will not be returned, please backup.

CD BioSciences is a professional service provider for the marine biology industry. Our quality testing services of biofertilizers can ensure that the most suitable methods and techniques are selected for your project. We provide our customers with the most precise ingredient data and highly informed process expertise. Our team of biomass experts plays a key role in the formulation, optimization and commercial evaluation of biomass value-added processes in industry and academia.
