Daphnia sp., Acute Immobilisation Test

Acute toxicity test to evaluate the effects of chemicals on Daphnia sp. Young daphnids, aged less than 24 hours at the start of the test are exposed to a range of concentrations (at least five concentrations) of the test substance for 48 hours. Fixation was recorded at 24 and 48 h and compared to control values.

CD BioSciences is a leading provider of comprehensive acute immobilization testing services using Daphnia sp. Our services encompass the identification and assessment of the impact of different types of chemicals, including plant protection products and pharmaceuticals, on Daphnia sp. Our testing services are designed to identify the susceptibility of organisms to different chemical compounds, thereby providing our clients with the necessary information to make informed decisions.

Our Services

Our testing services are carried out by a team of highly skilled and experienced scientists using state-of-the-art equipment that adheres to regulatory guidelines and internationally recognized protocols. We pride ourselves on our commitment to delivering testing services with high accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

  • Alternative species testing
  • Acute immobilisation test of Daphnia sp.
  • Daphnia sp. culture
  • Identifying the concentrations that cause a significant reduction of mobility compared to the controls.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports that include test results, discussions, recommendations, and regulatory compliance.

Endpoints

CD BioSciences follows the OECD 202 guideline for acute immobilization testing on Daphnia sp. LOEC, NOEC, and EC50 (EC20, EC10) are determined in the immobility test of the daphnids.
